Steph Curry's Wife, Ayesha, Posts Controversial Tweet About Modesty
/ Marilette SanchezNamed the 2015 NBA MVP, Steph Curry has unabashedly used his platform to share his Christian faith and draw others to God. This weekend, his wife, Ayesha Curry became a trending topic herself with what seemed like a harmless and common-sense tweet about modesty.
Everyone's into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters 😂😂😂

But of course, the Twitter-sphere exploded. Far be it from anyone--especially a Christian--to actually share a differing opinion from the status quo. In her ensuing tweets, she tried to give further context and explanation.

Quite surprisingly, the secular Hip Hop magazine Vibe covered the story with a spin in favor of the Currys. So at the very least, this whole firestorm got people to think twice about the bare-all trends of women's fashion.
I'm inspired by Ayesha's boldness and self-confidence, despite the backlash. As Christians, let's all take notes and share what we know to be true, despite the negativity that will usually follow not too far behind.
😂 and all I'm doing is sitting here reading a style weekly 😎😎😎. You guys definitely entertain me that's for sure.

Regardless of if you like my "style of clothes" or not (which I don't care) please do not tear women down and degrade them... Not cool peeps

American Christian culture can tend to be just as guilty as the secular culture when it comes to viewing women as nothing more than sexual objects. When we use the Christianese term “modesty” incorrectly, we can make it a dangerous concept.
